This ^^^ is what the results of my sonohysterogram say.
My GP scheduled a call with me yesterday to let me know that the results from the sonohysteogram show that I have polycystic ovaries. She said that this could be nothing, as ovaries can have cysts, but it is something to be aware of. If I do find that I am not getting pregnant after 4-6 tries then it is something to look more into as it could be an indication that I have PCOS.
Four to six?! Ugh! I am still hoping for one and done!
So what is PCOS? (Dr. Google you are so handy once again)
It is a group of symptoms that affect the ovaries and ovulation with three main features:
- cysts in ovaries
- high levels of testosterone
- irregular periods
There are a whole host of symptoms that, when reading, I really don’t think I have and my testosterone levels were completely normal so I may just have some cysts on my ovaries and it may be nothing. But it is still not news that I wanted to hear. I suppose I am glad she called to let me know, but I wish there was a definitive yes or no to it.
I am going to try to pretend like that phone call didn’t happen and just continue on as planned. (even though as I sit here and type this I am questioning if the pimples on my face are from wearing these masks or are a symptom of PCOS…ugh).
Let’s see what the blood work on October 5th says. Hoping for hormones that are all in a good place!
