First disappointment…
I know that before the first insemination we need to have a test month where I pee on ovulation sticks and when they say I have ovulated, I go for an ultrasound to confirm. Then, the following month we know we can trust the strips so when it shows that little pink line we inseminate!
Well, Saturday and Sunday my temperature was elevated and today I swear I could feel some tingles in my ovaries so I went to Shoppers (thankful that my Shoppers is open on Thanksgiving) to buy ovulation stips.
These things are not cheap! 10 strips are $60! Regardless, I will need them eventually so why not buy them today. I promptly went home and peed on the stick and waited for the 10 minutes and…nothing.
Well, I suppose I was a little too eager as I decided to research ovulation AFTER I wasted one and it turns out today was not the day to use a test…
Apparently, your LH surgest approximately 24 hours BEFORE ovulation and then drops…and your temperature rises AFTER ovulation…
The moral of the story is to do your research before you pee on expensive sticks.
Hopefully, this is the only disappointment I run into in this journey.
