Yep! Well, technically just the sperm. So basically the least fun way to make a baby…
Once I found out that I could not just ask someone to grow my human for me, and after deciding that adoption is not the route I want to take, I realized that left me with one option which is to grow and birth my own small human, with two pathways:
- Poke some holes, start swiping right a lot and get this show on the road
- IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)
Even pre-COVID I am not sure that Option 1 is the best idea…I mean STIs are a thing and that is just not something that appeals to 32-year-old me. So that leaves me with option 2 which is through a fertility clinic. I scheduled an appointment with my GP, told her my plan and she sent the referral. I am now working with Dr. Redmond at Hannam Fertility Clinic in Toronto and I am starting the process! And it is a bit of a process, but hopefully, one that will produce a baby in less time than adoption (assuming my uterus is hospitable and cooperates *knocks wood*)
