The good news is that my vitamin D and thyroid are normal, I am immune to chickenpox and measles and my uterus and fallopian tubes are normal as well. I am CMV non-reactive but she said that I can ultimately choose a donor who is positive or negative as most of the virus is in the semen and when they wash the sperm it makes the chance of transmission almost none. So I will make sure to get sperm that are Mr.Clean approved. I am blood type O+ which means my donor can be any blood type (prior to this test I didn’t know my blood type…my mum didn’t either).
One of my hormones was a little on the low side so she wants to do blood again on October 5th to see one month later. If all goes according to my plan I will have my first insemination in November. Fingers crossed!
Dr. Redmond asked if I had selected my donor but I have not yet…I get tired of swiping through dating apps, I don’t want to sit here for over a month analyzing each profile trying to find the best sperm. I figure I’ll look back on the site beginning of November, give myself a week or so to decide and then order! Yes, I will be ordering sperm online.
And what of my Mickey Mouse shaped uterus you might be wondering? Good news! She did not think it resembled the famous mouse. What she did say was that a normal uterus is shaped like an upside-down triangle and some can have a little divet in the top. If this is 10mm or greater, it can be a problem but mine is 3mm so nothing to be worried about.
